Background
1982
- UCM started its operation as a trading company, dealing with automotive air-conditioning components and parts.
 
1987
- Expanded into manufacturing of automotive heat exchanger components (namely evaporator coils and condensers) at its Batu Caves facilities, in Malaysia.
 
1989
- Established Bus Air-cond business collaboration with Fuji Heavy Industries, Japan.
 
1990
- Established Asian export market for REM products.
 
1992
- UCM relocated its entire operations to Shah Alam Complex.
-Supplied HVAC unit to Merceds Malaysia and BMW Malaysia, in collaboration with Behr Germany and Valeo France.
 
1994
- Developed Air-cond System for Mazda Malaysia.
-Developed Air-cond System for Peugeot Malaysia.
 
1995
- UCM component business expanded into oversea market.
-UCM own in-house design Air-cond System was approved by Proton.
-Started supplying Air-cond System for Proton Iswara.
 
1996
- UCM component business became the local market leader in the replacement market.
-Supplied Air-cond System for Proton Wira.
-Established Aftersale Air-cond services throughout Malaysia.
 
1998
- Achieved ISO9002 certification.
 
1999
- Became market leader for Asean REM market.
-Supplied OEM Radiator to Perodua in collaboration with Valeo France.
 
2000
- Became one of largest manufacturer of automotive heat exchanger components in Malaysia.
-Largest exporter of REM cooling coils in Malaysia, to more than 25 countries worldwide.
-One of the main suppliers of OEM Air-cond System and OEM radiators to Proton and Perodua.
 
2001
- Developed PF Condensers for both OEM and REM market.
 
2002
- UCM developed Air-cond System qualified by Proton export market.
-Established new DFENCE DIVISION to supply military Air-cond System to Malaysia Infantry Fighting Vehicles.
-Supplied Air-cond System for Proton Juara.
 
2003
- Supplied Air-cond System for Proton Arena.
-Incollaboration with Delphi Korea, supplied Air-cond parts to GM Thailand.
-Established UCM America for Air-cond Parts Trading.
-In collaboration with HALLA, supply Air-cond System to Mazda Malaysia.
 
2004
- Established UCM Iran for supplying Air-cond System to Proton Iran.
-Export Air-cond System for Proton Middle East Market (e.g. Iraq, Eqypt, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia).
-Incollaboration with Behr Germany, Supplying colling modules to BMW Thailand.
 
2005
- Achieved TS16949 certification.
-Supplied Air-cond System for KIA/NAZA CITRA in collaboration with Halla.
 
2006
- Developed and Supplied Air-cond System for KIA/NAZA Sutera.
-Established PROTON CKD export for car seats and door trims to Iran.
 
2007
- Established UCM Gurun factory for the OEM Sub-Assembly businesses.
 
2009
- Established global out-sourcing programs, in collaboration with Thailand, Taiwan, China and Korea partners for the out-sourcing parts and materials.
 
2011
- Restructuring exercise for UCM Group businesses, in line with changes in Malaysian National Automotive Policy and trade liberalization with ASEAN and China.
-Part Localisation program for NAZA KIA cars, NAZA Peugeot cars and Chery Malaysia cars.
 
CURRENT
- Automotive OEM businesses under UCM Systems Sdn Bhd at Gurun Factory and UCM Automotive Systems Sdn Bhd (Marketing).
-Automotive REM business under Autoparts Components Sdn Bhd (APC), in collaboration with American partners at Subang Factory.
- Factory Manufacturing divested into household heat-exchange components, in collaboration with Korean partner, under KC technologies Sdn Bhd (KCT).
-Bus Air-cond parts and services under FHI Sales and Services Sdn BHd (FHI).
